Raymond Sagapolutele

Born in 1971 in Aotearoa/Sāmoa Raymond Sagapolutele completed his master’s degree in Fine Arts with first class distinctions and received the Deans Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Study from AUT. 

He took part in numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad, e.g. B. the Whanui group exhibition “Q Theatre” as part of the Auckland Arts Festival 2017. In Germany he participated in the group exhibition “Grey is the new pink” at the Weltkulturen Museum in Frankfurt 2018/2019. He is one of the photographers in the locally founded and internationally networked graffiti creative collective TMD. 

He is a founding member of the Mana Rewa arts collective based at Nathan Homestead in Manurewa and along with senior members helps educate and support the local arts community. He received honors from the 2019 Wallace Arts Award and was a finalist in the 2019 Glaister Ennor Graduate Art Awards.
